What to do before your appointment

Insurance

If your horse is insured you should check with your provider that they give consent for the referral and at that your horse is covered for the investigation in question. Insurance companies will usually waive this for out of hours emergencies, but they should be informed at the first available opportunity. Insurance cover varies widely so review of your policy details is recommended and if you are in any doubt about any aspects please contact your insurers for clarification. NEH requires fees to be settled directly by the owner, these can then be claimed back from the insurance company.

Consent Form

A consent form will be forwarded by the secretaries at the time of referral which should be completed and brought in for the appointment. Any questions you have can then be addressed by the referrals veterinary surgeon.
