HOSPITAL AND REFERRAL SERVICES

Our highly specialised hospital team provides comprehensive elective and 24-hour emergency services for Newmarket-based horses as well as for horses from all over the UK and abroad. We are very happy to discuss referral of a case from other practices, or to offer guidance and additional diagnostic services as required on an individual case basis.

Horses in our hospital are given the highest standard of veterinary care available. A strong team of senior equine veterinary specialists include ECVS and ECEIM Diplomates, RCVS Specialists, Diplomates and Certificate Holders in equine surgery (soft tissue and orthopaedic) and anaesthesia. Our interns reside on site and provide round-the-clock veterinary care of in-patients. Our large team of qualified veterinary nurses includes specialised equine nurses who also participate in our 24-hour service. Dedicated yard staff look after the wide spectrum of in-patients with experience and skill, and are also a vital part of our emergency team.

Newmarket Equine Hospital is the premier European clinic and one of the world’s leading centres for arthroscopy and fracture repair. Surgeons from NEH are pioneers in these fields, developing new techniques, documenting previously undescribed conditions and developing appropriate treatment strategies. In the last 10 years these have resulted in major contributions to the literature with original peer reviewed scientific papers together with teaching the techniques and lecturing on the subjects worldwide. NEH surgeons are also co-editors and authors of the two standard textbooks on these subjects.
