Healthy Horse Clinic
At NEH, we offer our clients a great value clinic on the last Saturday morning of every month with the aim of promoting routine preventive care. This clinic includes:
Vaccination (influenza/influenza and tetanus) – remember these can be brought forward but not delayed
Dental examination – a thorough check (with or without a gag) and a rasp if required.
Microchipping – pre-existing chips can be checked (free) or a new one implanted.
Weight – an accurate weight can be measured on our weighbridge (free with any of the above)
Worming/worm egg counts – if a dropping sample is brought in we can check it for worm eggs, and after completing a short questionnaire, we can recommend a 'tailor made' worming programme.
Any other issues – these can be discussed and hopefully dealt with at the time, otherwise arrangements can be made for further investigation.
Any of all of the above can be included in one appointment. All you need to do is book through the office on +44(0)1638 782000 and then arrive at NEH with your horse at the allotted time. If you have any queries, please contact Stuart Pearson on the office number or e-mail stuart.pearson@neh.uk.com.
'Free Visit' Days
For clients whose horses reside in the areas shown on the map below, a vet will be available one day a week to do routine work (vaccinations, dentistry, dressing changes etc) and there will be no charge for the visit, just for the work carried out! If you are in the 'zone' and you wish to qualify for a FREE visit please book through the office +44(0)1638 782000 by 5 p.m. the day before. The vet will then ring you in the morning between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. to let you know what time they will be out.
The 'Free Visit' Days are:
| TUESDAY | EASTERN AREA (Bury St Edmunds) (shown orange on the map) |
| WEDNESDAY | NORTHERN AREA (Lakenheath, Ely and North Cambridge) (shown green) |
| THURSDAY | SOUTH WESTERN AREA (Haverhill, South West and Cambridge) (shown blue) |
If a specific vet or time is requested our standard fees will apply. For new clients, payment is expected at the time of booking/treatment. Please note it is only the visit fee that is free. All work done, including examination and advice fees will be charged at the normal rate.
Alternatively, if you are outside one of these areas or you would like to discuss the visit days with us, please contact the office on 01638 782000, or by email: info@neh.uk.com
Please do not use this service if your horse is sick or injured – we'll come out at any time for this!
Visit Charges
Your yard will be allocated a 'Zone' Charge. There is a discounted rate if we arrange your call at a time when we are nearby. A visit charge will be shared equally amongst the owners at the same yard if multiple horses are seen.
