Vetting the Thoroughbred Racehorse – Thursday 6th September 2018

With a  list of international speakers this one-day meeting aims to cover current topics involved in the pre-purchase examination of the young Thoroughbred racehorse not only in the UK, but also within other racing jurisdictions. Among the speakers, Chris Riggs from the Hong Kong Jockey Club will lead a session on vetting the Thoroughbred for importation into Hong Kong and Dr Scott Pierce from Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Kentucky will discuss endoscopy of the young Thoroughbred, its impact on sales and subsequent performance. Case-based discussions at the end of both the morning and afternoon sessions should make for an interactive meeting.
