PERSONAL ASSISTANT


Newmarket Equine Hospital delivers multidisciplinary referral services provided by a team of RCVS and European recognised veterinary specialists. We are recruiting for a Personal Assistant to support consultant surgeon, Mr Ian Wright FRCVS.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to take on a challenging, fast paced, varied and complex role. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in the equine and/or racing industry and also possess a good level of computer skills; good knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is essential. The position is client-facing (veterinary surgeons, owners, trainers and managers) and an ability to communicate at all levels is key. Training will be given but candidates should be able to prioritise and troubleshoot.

What you will do:

  • Be a point of contact for internal and external enquiries
  • Diary and appointment management
  • Manage daily timetable and co-ordinate surgeries and other clinical duties
  • Audio type reports, discharge notes and other documentation as required
  • Preparation for publications and presentations
  • Assist with project management
  • Manage memberships and other financial requirements
  • Represent Mr Wright in telephone and/or email correspondence
  • Make national and international travel arrangements
  • Produce invoices
  • Role share with the Head of Imaging's secretary, covering times of absence
  • Research and archive literature for publications and presentations
  • Take on additional tasks as required and directed
